Southern Kings Leave It Too Late Against Bennetton

The Southern Kings still are looking for their first win of the 2019/2020 Pro14 season. They lost the first match of their 3-week tour with 36-30 against Benneton.

Bennetton, on the other hand, scored their first win of the season after welcoming back five Italian Internationals in their side who participated in the 2019 Rugby World Championship.

In a close first half Benetton was reduced to 14 men with Toa Halafihi sent to the sin bin, but an outstanding defensive effort ensured no points were conceded during the period and ended they first half 15-9 in the lead.

Benetton started the second half like a house on fire and scored twenty-one unanswered points and lead 36-9 with fifteen minutes to go. Three converted tries in the last fifteen minutes of the second have made the score a lot more respectable but could not help the Southern Kings to their first win.
